Which networks and cities does it cover?
Coverage across all 16 host cities: AT&T and Verizon in the US, Rogers in Canada, and Movistar in Mexico. Note that inside packed stadiums on match day, all networks can slow down due to crowd congestion β this affects every carrier, not just eSIMs.
How much data do I need for the World Cup?
For a multi-week trip following your team, we recommend at least 5GB. If you stream highlights, use maps heavily, or tether, consider 10GB. The 1GB plans suit a short single-match visit only.
When does my data start?
Only when you first activate it. Install before your flight, turn it on when you land.
Can I use it in all three countries?
Yes. One eSIM switches networks automatically as you cross borders between the USA, Canada and Mexico β ideal if you're following your team through the knockouts.
Is tethering included?
Yes. Share your connection with a laptop or tablet at no extra cost.
Does it work with my phone?
Any eSIM-capable phone works β iPhone XS (2018) and newer, plus most recent Android and Pixel devices. Your phone must also be carrier-unlocked.
How do I check my phone is unlocked?
Contact your home carrier and ask if your device is carrier-unlocked β do this before you travel, as a locked phone cannot use any travel eSIM. Many phones bought outright are already unlocked.
What if I run out of data?
You can purchase a top-up directly through OVOSIM without reinstalling or getting a new QR code.
Can I buy now and activate later?
Yes. Your validity only starts when you first activate the eSIM β not when you purchase it. Buy now, activate when you land.
